We are a neighborhood pet supply store dedicated to helping pets live healthier, happier lives. Along with natural and holistic pet nutrition and high-quality pet supplies, our grooming salon provides personalized grooming services with a strong focus on pet comfort, safety, skin and coat health, and an exceptional client experience. Pet Stylist / Groomer Responsibilities Provide professional grooming services while prioritizing the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet. Consult with pet parents to understand their grooming preferences and provide recommendations based on the pet's breed, coat, lifestyle, and individual needs. Perform bathing, drying, brushing, deshedding, haircuts, breed-specific styling, nail care, ear cleaning, and other appropriate grooming services. Use breed knowledge, technical skill, creativity, and attention to detail to achieve quality grooming results. Recognize and communicate potential skin, coat, ear, nail, or other health concerns observed during the grooming process. Handle pets calmly and compassionately, using appropriate handling techniques to minimize stress and ensure a positive grooming experience. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming environment. Properly clean and maintain grooming equipment and tools, including clippers, blades, scissors, brushes, and other personal equipment. Follow all salon safety, sanitation, and pet-handling procedures. Provide excellent customer service and help create lasting relationships with our grooming clients. Work cooperatively with the retail and grooming teams to support the overall success of EarthWise Pet. Stay current on grooming techniques, breed standards, pet care practices, and continuing education opportunities. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional grooming experience preferred. Strong knowledge of a variety of breeds, coat types, grooming techniques, and breed-specific styles. Demonstrated ability to safely and confidently handle a variety of dog breeds, sizes, temperaments, and coat conditions. Ability to work independently while also being a positive and collaborative member of the team. Strong communication and customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, professional, and dependable. Passionate about animal care and committed to treating every pet with patience, kindness, and respect. Ability to recognize when a pet may require additional care or veterinary attention and communicate concerns appropriately to the pet parent. Willingness to learn about natural and holistic approaches to pet health and wellness. Must be able to lift and safely handle pets weighing 50 pounds or more . Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and performing the physical requirements of a grooming position. Must be available to work Saturdays and evening shifts , with additional weekday availability.
