Hair Stylist - Extensions & Color Specialist Job Overview Suede & Steel Salon Studio Barbershop is seeking a talented and motivated Hair Stylist with experience in hair extensions, dimensional color, blonding, cutting, and styling. Our established 2,600-square-foot salon offers a professional, team-oriented environment with opportunities to build your clientele and grow your career. Depending on your experience and goals, you may choose to rent a private studio or begin under our structured compensation model. The ideal candidate is passionate about the beauty industry, provides exceptional customer service, stays current with modern techniques, and wants to be part of a supportive and growing salon team. Responsibilities Provide professional haircuts, blowouts, styling, and finishing services. Perform highlights, balayage, blonding, dimensional color, gray coverage, toning, and corrective color. Conduct extension consultations and perform installations, maintenance, blending, and removal. Evaluate each client's hair condition, lifestyle, and goals before recommending services. Educate clients about proper at-home care and maintenance. Recommend professional products that support each client's results. Maintain accurate client formulas, service notes, and appointment records. Keep tools, equipment, and work areas properly cleaned and sanitized. Stay current with extension methods, color trends, products, and continuing education. Contribute to a welcoming, professional, and team-focused salon environment. Qualifications Valid Texas cosmetology license required. Hair extension experience is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of color theory, formulation, blonding, toning, and corrective color. Excellent consultation, communication, and customer-service skills. Dependable, organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented. Comfortable recommending professional products and additional services. Existing clientele is helpful but not required for the right candidate. A portfolio or social media examples of recent work are encouraged.
