Cosmetology Job Summary This position carries with it the obligation to uphold the Mission of North Central Texas College in carrying out the duties of the position. A commitment while embracing positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect and accountability to our students and employees. It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of course and program objectives and to contribute to the overall educational environment of the college and community and to provide related services such as academic advising, committee participation, professional development, community development as well as other service support that is needed in the fulfillment of the North Central Texas College's Mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Treats students and colleagues with respect. Active involvement in issues of institutional effectiveness, including student learning outcomes, program-level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement. Focuses on teaching and outreach efforts for student success. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution. Required Education Must have a current Barber Instructor license in the state of Texas. Required Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences.
  • Must be proficient in all Barber skills.
  • Knowledgeable of all Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulations Rules and Regulations
  • Proficient in classroom theory and lab applications required of students enrolled in Barber courses.
  • Active involvement in issues of institutional effectiveness including student learning outcomes, program level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement.
  • Focuses teaching and outreach efforts on student success.
Preferred Skills & Abilities Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply but it is not a requirement. Required Experience Three years current experience in the field of Cosmetology/Barbering. Preferred Experience Prefer to have Barber Instructor License at least 3+ years. Associate's Degree preferred but not required. Special Instructions to Applicants Subject to criminal background check. Employees must reside in Texas or Oklahoma. Resume, cover letter and professional license are required in addition to application. Hourly rate - $30/hr . Based on the Gainesville campus.
