We're looking for barbers who want to work on commission OR booth rent !

Job Overview :

We're hiring licensed barbers who are skilled and experienced with established clientele . We expect these barbers can handle a wide variety of clients/styles reliably. They will be asked to continuously find ways up level our services, as well as to always be learning, and have no ego about their own skill level.

Responsibilities :

Put the customer first , in everything you do. Make things clear and easy for them . Master the style of service we provide, and continuously share ideas/feedback with other barbers . Work as a team . Our philosophy is that each individual barber (and the shop) will succeed if we are all looking out for each other's best interests, not just our own. For the most part, you set your own hours. However we ask that commission barbers each take on 1-2 shifts, of six hours each (in addition to any other hours you want) just to help keep the shops lights on during all business hours. As a benefit, we guarantee your pay for these hours if the week is slow. While we have a cleaning service at our shop (at no charge to our barbers), we expect our barbers to keep their station and our common areas clean. For example, we have rotations for additional sweeping, laundry, and bathroom checking duties .

Experience :

Licensed with 2+ years of experience at a barbershop. Be a proactive, self-starter , with a can-do attitude. Bring positive energy . Be capable and ready to approach any customer and engage in casual conversation makes them feel welcomed and special at our shop . Skin fades, tapers, shear work - everything having to do with cutting men's hair . Straight razor shave (head and/or face) with hot towel treatment. Be a fast learner, ready to rethink old methods and try new things.

Benefits:

Pay guaranty : If your commission averages below your hourly pay (which will be determined at hiring) then you'll be paid at least that hourly rate - even if the shop has a slow week. And either way, you keep 100% of your tips on top of that. Our barbers are W2 employees . This means unemployment, Paid Family Medical Leave , and other state/tax sponsored benefits are part of the package. Our barbershop's liability insurance policy extends as a benefit to you. Paid vacation time : Earn up to 6 days (48 hours) of paid vacation time each year. Paid sick time : Earn up to 7 days of paid sick time each year.

Holiday Schedules and Pay :

Paid time off options will be available for Employees scheduled to work New Year's (Jan 1), Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day (Dec 25).
