We are looking for motivated, talented and enthusiastic hair stylist assistants who have naturally curly hair themselves and who want to join our team and go through our unique training program to learn to be an expert in curly hair cutting, coloring and styling. When you complete our training program you will become certified in our Signature CurlPrint cutting and coloring techniques and you will then be eligible to take clients of your own and quickly build a loyal following of curly haired clients. Our training program is divided into two parts: 4 months of training in curly hair cutting and styling and 4 months of curly hair coloring techniques. Hair Stylist Assistant Pay:

$25/hr base pay plus tips. Your pay of $25/hr pay will be divided into two parts: 1. You will be paid $20/hr while you are in the apprenticeship program. 2. Upon completion of your education agreement, you will receive a lump sum "bonus" payment equivalent to $5/hr for every hour you worked during the apprenticeship program.

Flexible Hours:

Full-time or Part-time 2-4 days a week from 10:00am-6:00 pm. Devana Salon is open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm. What you can expect from us: We are a team-based hair salon and believe that by working together as a team we can provide a better experience for our guests as well as for ourselves. We help each other grow and succeed, learn and evolve, achieve and prosper. Working as an apprentice alongside Erik Emblen, our owner, and Cierra Johns, our lead trainer, you will be coached and mentored by the very best curly hair specialists in the industry. Erik has been working exclusively with curly hair for 20 years and is one of the top rated curly hair specialists in Denver. Cierra has also mastered the art of curly hair styling and is in charge of our training program. They will teach you techniques that they learned from the best curly hairstylists in the U.S. and Europe. You will receive intensive training in how to cut, color, highlight and style all types of naturally curly hair from kinky curly to loosely wavy and everything in between. After successfully completing our apprenticeship program, you will receive Certification in our Signature CurlPrint Haircutting and Pintura Highlighting techniques. At this point, you will receive a pay raise to $30/hr. As a hairstylist at Devana Salon, if you work full-time (35-40 hours per week) we expect you to be earning $90,000-$110,00 per year within three years of completing your apprenticeship. We have annual pay reviews and as you grow with our team, your income will continue to increase from there. As a member of our team, you will receive paid education in our classes that are held every other Monday from 10:00am-1:00pm. In these classes, which are taught by Cierra Johns, you will learn the CurlPrint Haircutting Method, Pintura Highlighting, and so much more.

What we expect from you:

You have naturally curly hair and are reliable, show up to work on time in professional attire, have a positive attitude and a kind, friendly and outgoing demeanor. You and are open to learning and want to be part of a group of hairstylists who work together as a team. You have a current Colorado Cosmetology License and you desire to become one of the best curly hair stylists in Denver.

Job responsibilities include:

Shampooing guest's hair, applying styling products, and styling all types of curly hair. (Don't worry, we will teach you everything you need to know.) Learning our Signature Devana Scalp Massage Ritual and giving it to our guests. (They will love you for it.) Recommending curly hair products to our guests and teaching them how to use them to recreate their look at home. Mixing hair color according to stylist instructions and helping with some color applications. Helping with the front desk in greeting clients and scheduling appointments. Helping maintain a clean salon. Attending classes every Monday from 10:00am-1:00pm.

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
