This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about helping clients care for and maintain healthy locs while delivering a polished and professional experience. As the Lead Loctician, you will be responsible for providing expert loc services, supporting clients beginning their loc journey, and helping maintain high service standards within the natural hair department. The ideal candidate is confident in their craft, attentive to scalp and hair health, and committed to creating a positive experience for every client. This is a paid position with opportunities to grow within a wellness-focused environment that values natural beauty, professionalism, and client care. Responsibilities Perform loc maintenance services , including retwists, palm rolling, and interlocking Install starter locs and guide clients through the early stages of their loc journey Provide natural hair care services such as washing, scalp treatments, and protective styling Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with industry regulations Educate clients on healthy loc maintenance and scalp care between appointments Support organization of the loc service area and help maintain consistent service standards Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service Assist with booking and client management through the spa's scheduling system Requirements Valid Florida Cosmetology License or Natural Hair Specialty License Demonstrated experience working with locs and natural hair textures Strong knowledge of loc maintenance techniques (retwisting, interlocking, palm rolling) Understanding of scalp health and natural hair care practices Professional communication and strong client service skills Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, organized workspace Preferred Qualifications Experience installing starter locs and developing loc journeys for clients Experience mentoring junior stylists or apprentices Interest in working in a wellness-focused environment alongside yoga and massage services About Mind's Eye Day Spa Mind's Eye Day Spa is a boutique wellness studio specializing in natural hair, yoga, and massage .
