Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Hairstylist to join our vibrant team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the daily operations of a bustling beauty salon. As an Assistant Hairstylist, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with salon and retail services, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for clients. Your energy, attention to detail, and passion for beauty will help elevate our team's success and create memorable experiences for every guest. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly and assist with scheduling appointments using salon software such as Square. Support stylists with their clients. Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas. Manage front desk duties such as check-in/check-out, retail sales, upselling products, and handling client inquiries professionally. Assist with management tasks including inventory management, retail math calculations, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities. Promote retail products by educating clients on color theory, retail math benefits, and service packages to enhance their experience. Skills Dependable Punctual Organized Ability to prioritize tasks Able to find a routine of tasks that need to be completed without being asked Motivated to grow skills Ambitious Cheerful Able to work independently and as a team Takes directions well Experience Prior experience in a salon environment is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of hair services. Strong understanding of sanitation practices related to cosmetology services. Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with clients and team members effectively. Cosmetology license not mandatory, but must be enrolled in a cosmetology program.
