Job Description

The Trading Post Associate is responsible for creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience for guests while supporting the daily operations of the Ghost Ranch Trading Post. This role combines customer service, retail sales, merchandising, and light operational duties. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, is dependable, organized, and appreciates the mission and spirit of Ghost Ranch. Essential Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service. Process sales accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Answer questions about merchandise and provide general information about Ghost Ranch and campus amenities. Restock merchandise and maintain attractive, organized displays. Receive, unpack, and price new inventory as needed. Keep the Trading Post clean, orderly, and inviting throughout each shift. Assist with inventory counts and stock organization. Open and/or close the store following established procedures. Maintain accurate cash handling and balancing procedures. Support special events and seasonal retail activities as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. We value team members who are welcoming, curious, adaptable, and take pride in creating a memorable experience for every guest. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to help wherever needed are essential. Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable learning retail software and operating a cash register. Able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required. This position is hourly (non-exempt) at $18/hour. Weekend work may be required; overtime and evening work may be necessary in some circumstances to provide high quality guest service. After 90 days, Ghost Ranch offers limited benefits to part-time employees. Full-time employees are eligible for Ghost Ranch's complete benefits package after 90 days.
