Heaven At Home Aftercare Center provides respectful and thoughtful end of life services for companion animals and we strive to provide this end of life care at the highest of standards. Duties will include collecting deceased companion animals from private homes and veterinary clinics in a respectful manner, as well as assisting our veterinarians with transporting deceased patients to our facility. This position will initially start out at 15-25 hours per week, but the potential for increased hours is possible as responsibilities are added and will eventually include every other Saturday once fully trained. Responsibilities Provide compassionate retrieval of deceased pets, ensuring a respectful environment for grieving pet owners. Maintain the company vehicles and keep them clean and stocked Ensure accurate completion of appropriate paperwork and chain of custody procedures Follow the high standards and procedures of Heaven at Home The ability to interact with clients in a professional manner Cross training may be provided to assist team members with memorial items or the cremation process Deliver cremated remains packages to veterinary clinics or client homes Qualifications An understanding of the human-animal bond and recognizing the great privilege it is to provide aftercare services for our pet families. Love and respect for all animals Empathy and recognition of pet loss grief The ability to work independently or with a team Lifting, squatting, kneeling, bending, and standing will be required and the candidate should be able to lift and maneuver pets up to 50 pounds without assistance, and pets over 50 pounds with assistance. Great attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions Excellent communication skills A professional, well-groomed appearance A valid Michigan Driver License and a clean driving record
