Job Description
Licensed Medical Esthetician & Laser Technician ARA Med Spa | Richmond, Texas ARA Med Spa is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Licensed Esthetician & Licensed Laser Technician to join our growing medical aesthetics team. Laser Professional is preferred. We are looking for more than someone who can simply perform services. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable, confident, detail-oriented, professional, and passionate about delivering safe, results-driven treatments while providing an exceptional client experience. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience , preferably within a medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, or other clinical aesthetics setting. Required Qualifications Current Texas Esthetician License in good standing Current Laser Technician License required Laser Professional License strongly preferred Minimum 2 years of hands-on esthetic and laser experience SkinPen certified with strong microneedling experience Strong knowledge of skin anatomy, skin conditions, Fitzpatrick skin types, contraindications, treatment indications, and appropriate pre- and post-treatment care Working knowledge of chemical peels, including VI Peel and Cosmelan Hands-on laser experience with both ablative and non-ablative technologies Experience performing customized medical-grade facials and advanced aesthetic treatments Strong consultation, treatment-planning, and client-education skills Preferred Experience & Knowledge Experience with the following is highly preferred: DiamondGlow Circadia professional treatments and facials SkinPen microneedling SkinPen with exosomes, VAMP, PRP & PRF VI Peel Cosmelan Dermaplaning Laser hair reduction with Candela Laser IPL/photofacial treatments Skin rejuvenation and resurfacing treatments Ablative and non-ablative laser treatments SkinBetter Science SkinMedica Medical-grade skincare regimens and product recommendations PatientNow EMR Clinical photography and before-and-after documentation •Previous medical assisting experience or Medical Assistant certification is a strong plus. Responsibilities Perform aesthetic and laser treatments safely, confidently, and according to established protocols and scope of practice Conduct thorough client consultations and skin assessments Develop customized treatment plans based on client concerns, goals, skin type, medical history, and provider recommendations Identify contraindications and recognize when a treatment should be delayed, modified, declined, or referred to the medical provider Follow all treatment protocols and medical-provider instructions without deviation Educate clients regarding realistic expectations, treatment plans, home-care regimens, and pre- and post-treatment instructions Recommend appropriate medical-grade skincare products and complementary treatments Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the EMR immediately following treatment Document treatment settings, products, lot numbers, treatment areas, client response, and other required clinical information Obtain appropriate consents and clinical photography before treatment when required Maintain strict sanitation, infection-control, laser-safety, HIPAA, and client-privacy standards Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and treatment-ready rooms Assist with inventory, laundry, equipment care, room turnover, and other daily operational responsibilities Follow up with clients as required after treatments Build strong client relationships that encourage retention, referrals, and long-term treatment plans Support retail, service, package, and membership sales through knowledgeable and ethical recommendations Participate in continuing education, trainings, team meetings, events, promotions, and occasional social media/content creation Actively contribute to and maintain a strong professional social media presence for the business, including assisting with content creation, treatment education, before-and-after documentation, and brand storytelling to support marketing, client education, and business growth Work collaboratively with providers, management, patient coordinators, and fellow team members What We're Looking For The right candidate is: Punctual, reliable, and communicative - these qualities are non-negotiable Professional and polished Highly attentive to detail Safety-focused and protocol-driven Comfortable receiving direction from medical providers and management Willing to ask questions rather than make assumptions regarding client safety Confident but never careless Knowledgeable without being resistant to continued learning Coachable and receptive to feedback Self-motivated and productive during downtime Comfortable discussing treatment plans, packages, memberships, and retail skincare Able to build rapport and establish long-term client relationships Team-oriented and willing to assist wherever needed Able to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment Passionate about aesthetics, skin health, continuing education, and delivering exceptional results Comfortable representing the brand publicly through social media, client education content, and professional online presence in alignment with ARA Med Spa's standards and image
