This position offers the opportunity to work in both medical dermatology and aesthetics, providing excellent patient care while educating patients on skincare and aesthetic services. The primary location is Bulverde, Texas, with training at both our Bulverde and Sunset locations in San Antonio. We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient, personable, passionate about dermatology and aesthetics, and motivated to build and grow an aesthetic clientele. Responsibilities Role & Responsibilities Medical Assistant Responsibilities Welcome patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner throughout their visit. Prepare examination and treatment rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking supplies. Assist physicians and PA-Cs with patient examinations, procedures, and in-office surgeries. Scribe and accurately document patient information in the EMR. Take and upload patient photographs as needed. Obtain appropriate consents for treatments and procedures. Prepare sterile and clean fields for procedures. Fill cryotherapy cans with liquid nitrogen. Remove sutures as directed by the provider. Administer oral and/or injectable medications as permitted by training, licensure, and provider direction. Complete biologic medication forms and assist with prior authorizations. Provide post-procedure and post-treatment instructions. Communicate pathology and laboratory results to patients as directed by the provider. Call/send authorized e-prescriptions. Answer and return patient calls and accurately document communications in the EMR. Schedule, cancel, and confirm patient appointments. Clean, wrap, and autoclave surgical instruments. Maintain autoclave and ultrasonic equipment. Maintain pathology/laboratory tracking logs. Monitor and maintain medical supplies and sample inventory. Ensure electronic devices are charged and ready for the next day. Perform other duties as assigned by providers or management. Aesthetician Responsibilities Perform aesthetic services within the scope of your license and training, including: Laser treatments Microneedling Chemical peels Facials Dermaplaning DiamondGlow Skincare consultations Other aesthetic services offered by the practice Conduct thorough skincare consultations and develop individualized treatment recommendations. Educate patients on aesthetic procedures, skincare regimens, and professional skincare products. Recommend appropriate treatments and products based on patient goals and provider recommendations. Establish strong relationships with patients and provide an exceptional overall experience. Take before-and-after photographs as needed and upload them to the patient's chart. Obtain required consents prior to treatments. Maintain accurate electronic documentation for every treatment session. Provide appropriate post-treatment instructions and education. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment rooms. Clean and disinfect aesthetic equipment after each use, in accordance with practice protocols. Monitor aesthetic product and supply inventory, and assist with ordering. Help educate patients about the practice's aesthetic services and skincare offerings. Build and maintain an aesthetic clientele through exceptional patient care, education, communication, and follow-up. Participate in the continued growth and development of the aesthetic department. Answer and return patient calls and document communications appropriately. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule aesthetic appointments. Perform additional duties as assigned by the physician, PA-C, practice manager, assistant manager, or other designated leadership. Skills & Qualifications Qualifications & Education Requirements Required Medical Assistant certification or 1 year of Dermatology Medical Assistant Skill Or Certified Dermatology Technician certification Current Valid Texas Aesthetician license. Ability to perform duties within the scope of applicable Texas laws, licensure, and practice protocols. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a medical team. Preferred 1-3+ years of medical assisting and/or medical aesthetics experience. Dermatology experience strongly preferred. Medical aesthetic experience preferred. Experience with cosmetic lasers, microneedling, chemical peels, facials, dermaplaning, and/or DiamondGlow. EMR experience. Phlebotomy experience. Experience obtaining vitals. Experience with prior authorizations and biologic medications. Experience assisting with dermatologic procedures and surgery. Training will take place at our Sunset location in San Antonio and our Bulverde location. Monday - Friday, No Weekends This is a full-time position with the schedule divided between medical assisting and medical aesthetics based on the needs of the practice. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing approximately 10-20 lbs. Ability to safely assist with patient support and/or transfer when necessary. Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with both clinical and aesthetic services.Benefits
