Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate team as a Funeral Arrangement Counselor, where you will play a vital role in guiding families through one of life's most challenging moments. This dynamic position combines empathetic bereavement support with practical funeral planning, ensuring families receive personalized, respectful service. As a key communicator and organizer, you will help families create meaningful farewell ceremonies while providing comfort and clarity every step of the way. Duties Provide compassionate bereavement support to grieving families, offering emotional reassurance and guidance throughout the funeral planning process Assist families in selecting funeral services, caskets, urns, and other memorial options that honor their loved ones' wishes Coordinate and facilitate funeral arrangements, including scheduling services, liaising with clergy or celebrants, and managing logistical details Conduct detailed consultations to understand family needs and preferences, ensuring personalized service delivery Oversee event planning aspects of funeral services, including setup, transportation logistics, and post-service follow-up Engage in sales activities by presenting suitable products and services that meet families' needs while maintaining sensitivity and professionalism Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport memorial items or assist with setting up ceremony spaces Qualifications Prior experience in funeral directing or related bereavement support roles is highly desirable Strong skills in event planning with the ability to coordinate multiple details efficiently Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance and empathetic support to grieving families Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling memorial items or setting up ceremony spaces Proven sales aptitude with the ability to recommend appropriate products and services tactfully Knowledge of funeral industry practices and regulations is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Bilingual communication and written skills are a plus but not required Must have a valid CA Driver's License and be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
