Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team at Beck Family Funeral Homes & Crematory as Funeral Assistants who will provide exceptional funeral care and support to families we serve at our locations in Spring Grove, York, and McSherrystown, PA. This vital role involves supporting families through difficult times and ensuring all aspects of the service run smoothly. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a respectful demeanor. As a Funeral Assistant, you will play a key part in delivering meaningful support to grieving families while managing operational tasks with professionalism and care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact during life's most challenging moments. Responsibilities Assist families with bereavement support, offering compassionate guidance throughout the funeral process. Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when preparing for services Drive funeral vehicles as needed, ensuring safe transportation of remains and family members Support the setup and breakdown of funeral services, including arranging flowers, signage, and seating arrangements Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and empathetically with families and external vendors Experience Previous experience in funeral service, EMT/EMS, hospice, emergency services, and or healthcare is highly desirable Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure Experience in client communication roles demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail Knowledge of safe lifting practices and manual handling procedures to ensure safety during physical tasks Ability to work during the day, evenings, and weekends for funeral services Join us in delivering respectful, heartfelt support to families while developing your skills in a rewarding environment.
