Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Home Assistant to join our team in providing respectful, organized, and heartfelt funeral services and on-call removal services. In this vital role, you will be assisting with removals, visitations and funerals, ensuring smooth event coordination, grounds keeping to maintain a welcoming environment. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help deliver dignified services that honor loved ones and comfort grieving families. Duties Assist with the preparation and setup of funeral services, including grounds keeping, cleaning, arranging floral displays, seating, and signage Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when transporting caskets, equipment, dressing and casketing, or floral arrangements Drive company vehicles for transportation of remains or equipment as needed, errand running, general vehicle maintenance while adhering to safe driving practices Light clerical duties such as, but not limited to, answering telephones, client greeting, typing, and record management Requirements Demonstrated experience in customer service or event coordination within a sensitive environment such as funeral or mortuary services Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting techniques and manual handling procedures Valid driver's license with clean driving record for on-call coverage and transportation duties Live within 20 minutes of the funeral home Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in records management Excellent communication skills for working with families, colleagues, and external vendors Experience in administrative tasks related to funeral services or records management is preferred Willingness to work flexible hours including on-call shifts to support 24/7 service needs Compassionate demeanor, proper attire, and well groomed Join us in delivering respectful, organized, and heartfelt funeral services that honor loved ones and support grieving families.
