No preparation or removal duties Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park is seeking a compassionate, professional, and service-focused Licensed Funeral Director to join our team. This family-facing role centers on making arrangements, directing services, and providing thoughtful guidance to families, while supporting Hodges funeral homes throughout Lee and Collier Counties as needed.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Meet with families to make at-need funeral, burial, cremation, memorial, and celebration-of-life arrangements.
- Guide families through available services, merchandise, and memorialization options based on their individual wishes and needs.
- Coordinate and direct funeral services, memorial services, graveside services, and celebrations of life from arrangement through completion.
- Prepare and review required arrangement documents, authorizations, permits, and records accurately and in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
- Coordinate service details with families, clergy, celebrants, cemeteries, crematories, vendors, and internal teams.
- Oversee and provide direction to attendants and support staff assigned to services.
- Receive first calls, obtain accurate information, and coordinate dispatch of the appropriate transfer team; Funeral Directors do not perform removals or transfers from places of death.
- Participate in rotating weekend and after-hours on-call schedules to assist families with questions, receive first calls, and coordinate appropriate resources.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Graduate of an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Current Florida Funeral Director license, or the ability to obtain Florida licensure promptly through applicable reciprocity or licensing provisions.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Professional, compassionate communication skills with strong organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple families, services, deadlines, and required documentation while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Previous funeral service experience is preferred, although both experienced Funeral Directors and appropriately licensed professionals earlier in their careers are encouraged to apply.
