To learn more about us, visit us at www.cremation-society.com Cremation Society is seeking a licensed Funeral Director to join our Edison Park location in Chicago, IL. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with scheduled on-call responsibilities. Additional compensation is provided for on-call duties and after-hours removals. Responsibilities Meets with families to plan cremation, funeral, memorial, burial services. Assist with caring for the deceased in a respectful manner. Provides customer service in all areas of helping families following the loss of a loved one. Provides exemplary personalized and professional service Answer phones, take and distribute first calls, perform removals and transfers, be On Call. Arranges, conducts and directs cremation, funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized and caring manner consistent with policies and procedures. Handles contracts, legal documents, and collection of payments in accordance with company policies. Handles pre-need sales where applicable Ensures adherence to all applicable professional, municipal, state and federal licensing authorities, rules and regulations. Complete, accurately prepare and archive all documents related to services, cremations, within our company database (SRS computing) and the state file system (IVRS). General office duties as well as answering phones and taking first calls. Assist with the maintenance of vehicles, facilities and property. Promotes and maintains a safe and healthy work environment. Receives cremation containers, caskets and other funeral home supplies as well as place into inventory. Transferring deceased individuals into our care from their place of death Assist in making loved ones presentable for services Active involvement with community organizations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Valid Illinois Funeral Director license. Minimum 5 years fully licensed Funeral Director. IVRS experience, required. Must be fully proficient in all aspects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with families during time of need and create and maintain a premier level of client family satisfaction. Proficient with computers and technology (IVRS State file system, SRS Computing and Microsoft Office Suite preferred). Ability to manage a caseload while creating an exceptional customer experience. Ability to work effectively with a variety of people in stressful situations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Organized; flexible; collaborative. Ability to lift various amounts of weight as needed.
