Southeast Iowa A highly respected, family-owned funeral home in Southeast Iowa is seeking a well-rounded Funeral Director and Embalmer to join its team. The firm is family-owned business and serves approximately 250 families annually. Compensation Salary range:
$50,000-$75,000 Compensation based on experience, licensing, and overall fit Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Work-life balance Long-term professional stability Responsibilities Complete funeral and cremation arrangements Direct visitations, funerals, memorial services, and graveside services Perform embalming and preparation Complete dressing, cosmetizing, and casketing Coordinate removals and transfers Complete death certificates, permits, and required documentation Participate in an on-call rotation Assist with cremation-related services Support both front and back-of-house operations Assist coworkers wherever needed Qualifications Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer Iowa license or ability to obtain one Illinois licensure is a plus Well-rounded front and back-of-house experience Strong embalming and preparation skills Excellent communication and family-care abilities Dependable, organized, and team-oriented Comfortable working from a shared workspace Comfortable with technology Interested in living and working in a smaller community Maintains a professional appearance The staff works closely together, and every team member is expected to pitch in wherever needed. The successful candidate will communicate well, work effectively with different personalities, and contribute to a supportive workplace culture.
