Full Job Description The Opportunity:
The Eden Roc Inn & Suites is looking for a Laundry Attendant to join the housekeeping department. The Laundry Attendant will ensure the hotel maintains a constant supply of clean linens for the housekeepers. You will perform all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding, storing linen) , and including: Clean laundry machinery. Assist in laundry inventories. Clean laundry area. Fold and store valet and laundry bags. Assists Room Attendants in their daily activities. Must be able to work AM/PM/Weekend/Holiday shifts
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. Assists in other areas assigned by manager such as lobby attendant, houseperson, front desk, maintenance supply person and/or runner due to changes in weather, occupancy, scheduling. Interacts with guests by providing hotel information, instructions, and directions Reports any safety concerns to manager
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively work within the department. Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent, preferred
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
