Job description: Shop Assistant -

Large Janitorial Company Position Overview:

The Shop Assistant will assist in maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to perform basic repairs, and effective communication with the front office and management team. The Shop Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are in good working conditions to support daily janitorial operations. May also assist in covering daytime janitorial tasks at client locations. Schedule will be 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday . Occasionally may be asked to work a weekend day for coverage.

Daily Tasks :

Perform laundry duties and ensure clean linens are available. Fuel company trucks and check for operational issues such as headlights, windshield wipers, and hazard lights. Inspect trucks for any damage, recording and reporting findings to Management. Move trucks to appropriate parking locations. Complete daily and weekly checklists accurately. Remove unused laundry from trucks and ensure the interiors are organized. Drive unused trucks to keep them operational. Refill all chemicals in the garage and ensure they are properly stocked. Inspect and repair broken equipment as needed. Notify team members upon departure. Clean and organize the workshop to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Skills & Qualifications :

Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with vehicle maintenance. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. A clean & valid driver's license is required.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
