Non-Exempt Job Summary:
Cleans and prepares hotel linens in accordance with established standards to assure guest satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, press, and fold hotel linens to departments as needed Ensure washers and dryers operate properly, and informs management or maintenance of any malfunctions or problems Maintain linen cart and supplies in a neat and organized manner Respond to requests from hotel staff in a timely and efficient manner Maintain security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day Make certain that the laundry area is kept clean and is well maintained Maintain a professional image through appearance and dress Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of general laundry cleaning principles, use of laundry products, and operation of standard laundry equipment. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
