Laundry Aide - Summer Help HMC Offers Tuition reimbursement HMC Wellness Center membership 401(k) plan with employer match About the Job Reporting to the EHS Director, this position requires an understanding of the potential risk of linen contamination from patient body fluids (including blood, urine, feces, chest fluid, vaginal fluid, semen, and others). The role performs all functions within the Laundry Department, including linen pickup, sorting, washing, drying, folding, delivery, and completion of required paperwork. Responsibilities Separate wet linens into appropriate tubs for drying Dry loads and prepare items for folding Fold towels, washcloths, diapers, bibs, gowns, pillowcases, and draws; sheets and blankets are folded by two aides Stock linen carts with clean linens Deliver linen carts to designated floors and respond promptly to linen requests Assist with unloading personal laundry (washers/dryers) and hang clothing when time permits After 1:00 p.m., collect linens from floors, sort, load washers, apply proper cleaning solutions, and run machines Perform scheduled maintenance, including cleaning lint from dryers every other load or as needed Sanitize tables and sweep floors daily; sanitize shelves and carts weekly Complete daily linen count sheets for each floor Attend required in‑services and mandatory education sessions This is a day‑shift position with rotating weekends .

Weekday hours:

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Weekend hours:

6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Starting wage:

$15 Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to read and follow verbal instructions This role requires the ability to: Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb stairs, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Use hands to handle objects, tools, and equipment Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Maintain close, distance, color, and depth vision, with the ability to adjust focus Walk or stand throughout the shift and grasp/reach for objects Background and Drug Screen Disclaimer All HMC employees must pass both Federal and State background checks, as well as a drug and alcohol screening.
