Job Description

At Richland Bean-Blossom Health Care Center, we specialize in rehabilitation services to improve the speed and scope of recovery following injury and do so in a private and dignified manner. We are hiring Laundry Assistants!! Weekends only!!!
SUMMARY:
Assists Environmental Services Director in the provision of clean, sanitary linens and laundry for residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties as assigned. 1. Regularly provides linen and laundry services to residents. This includes but is not limited to the performance of the following duties: retrieve linens and laundry from resident rooms; properly sort, inspect, and treat linens; wash, dry, fold and properly store articles. 2. Responsible for day to day operations of laundry department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: proper use; cleaning and maintenance of equipment; making minor repairs to equipment, monitoring equipment; and reporting observations concerning equipment wear, defects and malfunctions to supervisor/designee; maintenance of clean and orderly laundry area; coordinate inventory and ordering of supply and equipment needs. 3. Conducts emergency cleaning per procedures. Responsibilities include timely and proper handling and cleaning of spills, slick surfaces, broken furniture or other matters possibly affecting the safety of residents, employees, and/or visitors. 4. Maintains equipment and cleaning materials in performing responsibilities. This includes proper use of equipment, cleaning agents, and maintaining adequate knowledge of location and use of special and emergency equipment. 5. Ensures proper documentation is maintained. This includes but is not limited to: documentation of cleaning services, safety concerns, and measures taken to address the same, as well as other documentation required per facility policies, practices, and procedures. 6. Performs quality assessment and assurance functions, as directed, including but not limited to: auditing effectiveness of cleaning procedures, and regularly monitoring and inspecting quality of cleaning services. 7. Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, and with facility philosophy, policies and procedures. 8. Must be able to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly perform environmental services duties. 9. Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm. 10. This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness. EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Meets state and federal requirements.
