Job Summary:
Provides clean linens and personal clothing to residents and the facility.
Essential Functions:
Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices. Collects all soiled linens and clothing. Properly washes and dries linens, personal clothing for the residents, and other items for the facility. Mends repairable items, folds, and replaces items in appropriate storage areas. Ensures that a sufficient supply of clean linens are available for all shifts. Responsible for proper care of laundry items. Responsible for proper operations and cleaning of all laundry equipment in a safe manner. Performs laundry functions in accordance with the Infection Control Program and understands the Right To Know Program. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions. High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness. Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of laundry carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 40 pounds throughout an eight hour shift. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an eight hour shift Operates laundry machines,
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift and move large bags of dirty linen, commercial washer loads of wet linen, commercial dryer loads of dry linen, and boxes and containers full of cleaning agents. Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of laundry carts and lifting or carrying 40 pounds throughout the shift.
