Job Description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for receiving, cleaning, sorting, organizing, folding, counting, and distributing of linens to housekeepers. Laundry attendants ensure the cleanliness of all linens is maintained by the department.
Essential Functions:
Placing and organizing linens in appropriate areas for housekeepers. Receiving linen bins and keeping counts. Collecting soiled linen bags from housekeepers and reporting if bags are missing. Delivering linens during urgent situations. Making linen bags when needed. Assisting housekeepers when necessary. Operation of washers, dryers, towel folder, sorting station, and rolling station Wash, dry, sort and fold linens; keeping assigned linens to assigned carts by area Process dirty linens brought in by next delivery date Identify stained and/or ripped linen and take appropriate action to rectify these issues, maintains discard log for linens Use protective equipment when working with soiled linens and possess the ability to learn the procedures for processing isolation linens Assists in periodic inventory of linens. Check and maintain chemical injection system and perform minimal maintenance within the laundry area. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Able to work flexible hours and days with some weekends and holidays required. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must pass a background check prior to hire. Must be able to frequently stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel materials; reach with hands and arms; talk and/or hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push heavy cards without assistance.
