In this hourly, part-time position, you will be responsible for handling the facility's laundry needs primarily on weekends, making sure linens and textiles are washed, dried, folded, and stored according to established standards. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, back-of-house setting, while following clear procedures and safety guidelines. What You'll Do Operate commercial washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment according to established procedures and safety standards Collect, sort, and process soiled linens, towels, bedding, uniforms, and other textiles by type, color, and level of soil Load, unload, and monitor laundry machines, ensuring proper use of detergents, chemicals, and machine settings Inspect clean items for stains, tears, or excessive wear, and follow procedures for rewash, repair, or disposal as needed Fold, stack, and organize clean linens and textiles to department standards for presentation and efficiency Label, store, and rotate linen inventory to maintain adequate supplies for the housekeeping team and other departments Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, including equipment, work surfaces, storage areas, and floors Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor or manager on duty Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of soiled items and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Support the housekeeping team by responding to occasional urgent linen or towel requests during weekend shifts Adhere to departmental policies, schedules, and timelines to ensure laundry is processed and available when needed Work primarily on weekends and adjust to changing priorities and volumes during peak periods Qualifications Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or a similar support role preferred but not required; training will be provided Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English Capacity to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and carrying laundry bundles (within reasonable weight limits) Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to identify stains, damage, or items needing reprocessing Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned weekend shifts with consistency Comfort working independently with minimal supervision, as well as communicating effectively with housekeeping and other staff Willingness to follow all safety, hygiene, and chemical-handling procedures in the laundry environment Basic time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple loads and tasks at once Eligibility to work in the location of employment and ability to meet any pre-employment requirements set by the organization
