Summary:
Works interchangeably as a member of a team or individually in any general work capacity in the Laundry.Responsibilities:
1. Prepares clean laundry for processing and for loading and unloading from dryers and linen carts. Operates all machines including hydraulic lift, washers, dryers, flatwork ironer, and folders. 2.Performs in all workstations:
On the flatwork ironer, including feeding, taking away, and folding of linens processed. Sorts and separates all contaminated linen according to wash procedures in accordance with the department production standards. 3. Reports any malfunctions of any equipment. 4. Folds, counts, packs, and delivers clean linen to all user areas and outside facilities. 5. Organizes and restocks linen carts, shelves, and closets for all user areas and outside offices according to linen distribution procedure. 6. Maintains an adequate inventory of liquid chemicals for cleaning the department. 7. Assists in the cleaning of laundry equipment. 8. Assures proper cleaning equipment and supplies are available for all cleaning processes. 9. Assists with training of new employees in operation of flatwork ironer, including feeding, taking away, and folding linen processed. 10. Answers the telephone and files telephone orders any requested 11. Consistently separates torn, badly worn, or stained linen, and processes this linen as per policy. 12. Unload washer and load and unload dryer in accordance with department policy and procedures.WAYNE Other information:
Education- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Licensure/ Certification

- At least one year in a Laundry setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
