Summary of Job Duties:
Responsible for the management of all laundry/uniforms repairing and replacing. Responsible for the distribution of clean uniforms and linens for all living units through a coordinated effort with designated cottage staff. Responsible for uniforms inventory management including labeling all uniform items and maintaining required stock. Responsible for keeping work areas neat, clean and orderly including, but not limited to, equipment, shelving, laundry area a folding area. Responsible for issuing restitution reports on lost/damaged uniforms and coordinate the collection process with the Business Office. Responsible for providing quarterly inventory and restitution reports; determines restitution owed for damaged County property; completes budget, goals and objective responsibilities Responsible for coordinating uniform seasonal dry cleaning and mending; recommends restocking as needed. Performs duties of co-workers as required or assigned. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of ninth grade education, or Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow simple directions Exhibit physical fitness necessary to sort, fold and lift laundry. Valid driver's license issued by the state of residency. Required to participate in and adhere to all compulsory safety training and safety procedures required by and administered by County and/or Juvenile Court. Hazardous Working Conditions May stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in awkward and cramped positions, or on ladders; could require working outdoors and be subject to inclement weather; lift up to 100 lbs. without material handling device; ability to use and wear personal protective equipment: half-face respirators/dust mask, safety glasses, body harness for fall protection, arc flash clothing level two protection (hard hat, Class 2 gloves/leather, face shield, neck protector, coveralls), fire rated long sleeve shirts, earplugs/muffs, and hand protection.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of High School and three (3) years experience in laundry, uniform or janitorial services including knowledge of operating laundry equipment, uniform management, and record keeping; ability to carry-out written and verbal instructions, plan workload and work with minimum supervision. Physically able to stand on feet most of the day and handle heavy wet laundry. Ability to use computers, uniform labeling machine and manage uniform inventory.
