Laundry Attendant

A hotel laundry attendant ensures all guest room linens, towels, and food & beverage items are cleaned, folded, and stocked to company standards. Key duties include operating industrial washers/dryers, sorting soiled linen, treating stains, and maintaining a clean, safe laundry area.

Key Responsibilities Linen Processing:

Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and storing linens, towels, and uniforms.

Stain Removal:

Inspecting linens for stains or damage, applying appropriate cleaning agents, and separating damaged items.

Equipment Maintenance:

Operating and cleaning industrial machinery, including checking lint screens and reporting maintenance issues.

Inventory Control:

Tracking cleaning supplies (detergents, bleach) and assisting with linen inventory.

Housekeeping Support:

Assisting with cleaning public areas or helping housekeepers restock supply rooms. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 40-100 lbs depending on the facility. Comfort working in an environment with high temperatures and noise from machinery. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not always required. Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping is preferred, but training is often provided, as noted on OysterLink. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures with chemical cleaners.
