Essential Job Functions:
Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with Terwilliger Plaza policies. Ensures quality linen support services through the maintenance of efficient workflow patterns and in cooperation with other staff and residents. Must demonstrate an ability to work under minimal direction and supervision Maintains a clean and tidy work area and equipment, following cleaning schedules and routines for the departmental and ensuring the proper care and economical use of resources. Sorts linens for processing. Loads and unloads washers and dryers. Operates ironers. Folds and sorts linen onto proper shelves for wrapping and pickup. Inspect linens for required markings. Protects own health and health of others by adopting safety work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Observance of universal precautions and Hazard Communications.

Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED Years/Months of Experience:
Six months or more related experience Knowledge / Mental /
Skill Requirements:
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively with at team. Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort. Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn. General knowledge of housekeeping skills. General knowledge of how to operate any equipment needed to perform tasks. Knowledge of vacuum cleaner operation and maintenance. Possess skills in organization, appearance and demeanor. Work alone and as a member of a team, able to plan own work activities and work with a minimum amount of supervision. Knowledge of Hazard of Communication program. Ability to operate maintenance and power equipment; good skill in the use of hand and power tools. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents or other staff of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed with written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to use equipment required for tasks; understands chemical interactions. Skills in organization, appearance and demeanor. Ability to make quick, clear judgments based on facts and communicates issues with sensitivity to different communication styles and personalities. Ability to handle high level of activity and multiple priorities in calm manner with common sense and independent action. Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments. Able to work overtime, weekends, holidays as needed. Ability to follow directions and complete forms & inventories and keep records. Normally works 8 hours per shift, however, this may be subject to change for business or care purposes. Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure involving differences in techniques, procedures, physical demands, or work situations. Work alone, as a member of a team, able to plan own work activities and with a minimum amount of supervision. Ability to identify task requirements, monitor progress toward accomplishment and meet deadlines for completion of projects in a timely manner. Ability to receive guidance and supervision. Follow work rules and procedures, safety practices. Meet deadlines, punctuality and attendance standards, etc. Ability to systematically identify and define problems, evaluates alternatives, and implements cost effective solutions. Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or in situations in which working speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of the job; to be subject to danger, risk, or tension as a regular, consistent part of the job. Position:
Physically capable of performing all assigned duties within a flexible work schedule required for operation. Requires two-hand dexterity Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time Physical ability to push/ pull/ lift/ carry up to 50lbs, kneel, uses good body mechanics or asks for assistance.
