LAUNDRY ATTENDANT SUMMARY

This position has the overall responsibility for cleaning and storing linens/uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel's laundry and linen needs are met.

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES

include the following: Provide professional and courteous service at all times. Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers. Process sorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders ensuring finished product is inspected and meets quality standards. Maintain assigned work area in a clean and safe condition. Use only approved chemicals and follow all Hotel safety standards. Notify Supervisor/Manager of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damaged linens, to ensure laundry operation is running at maximum efficiency level. Attend mandatory meetings and hotel functions. Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook. Other duties as assigned.

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Basic reading, writing and math skills. Some laundry experience preferred. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT WORK ENVIRONMENT

Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 400 pounds. Frequently standing up and moving about the work area. Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling. Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment. Work area may become noisy at times
