Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the operation of the Washroom and monitoring the work on an assigned shift, eight (8) hours a day, five (5) days a week. Coordinates weighing of linens and loading of washers and tumblers. Under the direct supervision of the Floor Manager. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department. Sorts and weighs soiled linen. Operates and supplies washers and maintains a safe and clean work area. Loads and unloads tumblers. Monitors quantity of chemicals in containers and replaces as needed. Sends linens through Flatwork Ironers and Small Piece folders as needed. Record poundage washed daily. Organize the Laundry soiled area. Ensure safety and proper care of laundry and linens. Operates all equipment in Laundry if requested. Follows Laundry procedures in hygienically clean process. Cleans lint filters in all system dryers daily. Cleans filters on tunnel washer and floor washers and dryers. Maintains records for maintenance processes on equipment in the washroom. Communicates with Floor Managers any safety concerns promptly. Communicates with Floor Managers of any inventory concerns. Works closely with trucking representatives in delivery of chemicals to our plant. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and complete department logs and reports as normally acquired through on the job training. No High School Diploma or GED required.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION

EXPERIENCE
General knowledge of commercial laundry washers and dryers normally acquired through one year experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate commercial laundry washers and dryers, as normally acquired through on the job training.
