Job Description

Marbridge is a long-term residential community for adults with intellectual disabilities, offering a full spectrum of services tailored to individual needs. We provide residents with opportunities to learn, experience, and achieve a whole new life. We are currently seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. This position must provide a supply of clean, disinfected linens for residents at the Villa Nursing Home at all times. This position is responsible for delivering residents' clean clothing to their rooms. This position will also fold and distribute clean bedding, table cloths, bibs and bed pads to appropriate areas. The laundry Attendant may be required to perform tasks, which involve exposure to visible blood contamination or reasonably anticipated blood or other bodily fluid contamination. Employees must be knowledgeable about OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards and must follow the required procedure for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood.
Shift Available:
Thursday - Monday, 5:30 AM - 2:00

Qualifications and Skills:
High School diploma or GED Valid Texas Drivers license Over the age of 21 Good knowledge of laundry methods, equipment, and operations Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Physical Demands Position involves exposure to heat, humidity, and noise; exposure to heavily soiled or contaminated laundry; Must be able to move loads weighing up to 100 pounds in carts; lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; stand for frequent hours at a time with occasional bending, squatting and kneeling; Must be able to meet the physical requirements as needed to perform all of the duties listed under Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this job description. Key Responsibilities Practice good attendance habits; arrive for work on time and work entire shift Sort, fold, and deliver the following items to resident rooms: Clothing protectors, socks, undergarments, shirts, pants and pajamas Put away hanging clothes into resident closets Press resident's clothing when necessary Mark all resident's clothing items with their names to ensure all residents receive their own items back after cleaning Fold, bag, and deliver tablecloths to dietary department Collect clothing hangers from resident rooms and return to laundry Wash and dry clothing in house (at Villa) when necessary Assist housekeeping when needed Apply today to join a compassionate team making a difference Marbridge provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
