Apply Overview Job Shift Any Apply Description Collection & Sorting:
Pick up soiled laundry from resident rooms and other areas; sort by color, fabric type, and cleaning method
Washing & Drying:
Operate washing machines and dryers; wash garments and linens according to fabric type and contamination level; use correct detergent and temperature settings.
Special Handling:
Wash contaminated linens separately if necessary; wear gloves and wash hands after contact with soiled laundry
Folding & Distribution:
Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry to resident rooms or storage areas; ensure proper labeling of resident clothing
Equipment & Area Maintenance:
Clean and maintain laundry equipment; replace filters; keep work areas clean and safe
Inventory & Supplies:
Monitor linen and laundry supply levels; request additional supplies as needed
Infection Control:
Follow universal precautions, handle soiled laundry safely, and prevent cross-contamination
Communication:
Coordinate with nursing staff and residents to address laundry needs or concerns Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience in laundry services, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., push/pull 30 lbs., and move frequently throughout the day Strong attention to detail, patience, and ability to follow housekeeping and infection control guidelines Ability to work regular shifts, including weekends and holidays Knowledge of household and industrial laundry equipment and chemical use Share job details to
