The Hotel Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality cleaning, folding, and organizing of linen and laundry items in the hotel. This role supports the hotel's housekeeping and guest services by maintaining a clean and organized laundry area, ensuring all linens are cleaned and returned in a timely manner. The Laundry Attendant is expected to uphold high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail, contributing to the overall guest experience.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, and other laundry items according to hotel standards.
- Inspect all laundry for stains or damage and take appropriate actions to remove stains or report issues to the supervisor.
- Operate laundry machines and ensure they are running efficiently and maintained regularly.
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies, including detergents and fabric softeners, and report low stock to management.
- Follow safety protocols and proper chemical handling procedures when using laundry equipment and cleaning agents.
- Ensure laundry items are cleaned and processed in a timely manner to meet the hotel's operational needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry, including proper storage of clean linens and laundry supplies.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or issues in the laundry area to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the housekeeping or hotel management team.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel laundry or similar roles is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of laundry equipment and basic laundry techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Good physical stamina, as the role involves long periods of standing, lifting, and moving heavy laundry items.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the hotel's operations.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience in using industrial laundry machines and understanding of laundry chemicals.
- Knowledge of proper laundering methods for various types of fabrics and materials.
- Ability to identify and remove stains effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely cleaning and processing of laundry items.
