Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently, including washers, dryers, and related equipment.
Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and wear; remove or report items requiring replacement.
Follow established laundering procedures, including proper water temperatures, detergent usage, and sanitation practices.
Maintain laundry equipment in good working order and report maintenance concerns promptly.
Handle and process soiled or contaminated materials in accordance with infection control and workplace safety procedures. Inventory & Distribution Maintain adequate inventories of linens, towels, clothing, laundry supplies, and related materials.
Organize, store, and distribute clean items to designated locations as needed.
Monitor inventory levels and report supply shortages or replenishment needs.
Ensure all distributed items are clean, serviceable, and meet organizational standards. Sanitation & Safety Maintain laundry areas in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition.
Follow established infection prevention, environmental sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.
Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safe handling procedures for chemicals and potentially contaminated materials.
Ensure laundry chemicals and supplies are stored safely and securely.
Support compliance with applicable health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Documentation & Compliance Complete required logs, inventory records, and operational documentation accurately and timely.
Follow organizational policies related to confidentiality, safety, security, and employee conduct.
Participate in required training and maintain compliance with applicable workplace requirements.
Communicate operational concerns, equipment issues, and supply needs to supervisors.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in laundry services, housekeeping, environmental services, or related support roles.
Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment.
Knowledge of laundering techniques, sanitation practices, and safe handling of cleaning products and contaminated materials.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate records.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to obtain and maintain all required background checks, clearances, and credentialsAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required.
Familiarity with infection control practices, bloodborne pathogen protocols, and personal protective equipment (PPE).Experience managing linen, clothing, or supply inventories.
Knowledge of workplace safety standards and environmental sanitation practices.

Position Overview :
The Laundry Staff is responsible for providing efficient, hygienic, and timely laundry services for facility linens, bedding, towels, clothing, and other assigned materials in a federally contracted ICE residential facility. This position ensures that laundered items are cleaned, processed, stored, and distributed in accordance with organizational standards, infection control practices, and applicable health and safety requirements. The Laundry Staff member plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment while supporting daily facility operations.Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions :

Required Qualifications & Core Competencies:
High school diploma or GED required.Minimum one (1) year of experience in laundry services, housekeeping, environmental services, or related support roles.
