The Laundry Assistant helps in the day-to-day activities of the Laundry/Housekeeping Department in accordance with regulations and as directed by the Housekeeping/laundry supervisor to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents. Job duties for Laundry Assistant are: Ensure that an adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies are maintained in laundry/linen closets and carts to meet the daily needs of the facility. Report all equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to administrator and maintenance director as soon as practical. Ensure that equipment is kept cleaned and properly stored. Follow procedures for collecting, sorting, washing, delivering, of linens, garments, and resident clothing. Assist residents and family members in finding lost articles of clothing and record the interaction of a grievance form. Report any complaints to the supervisor. Take water temps once during shift and clean dryer vents every 2 hours or as needed and sign. Collect and take out briefs barrels and trash at the end of the shift, clean barrels and replace liners. Collect soiled linen barrels throughout the shift for washing, drying, and putting away Personals to be washed and returned to residents closets each evening Candidates that are interested in the Laundry Assistant position should also be: Able to pass a background check.
