Seasonal / Part-Time / 1099 Independent Contractor Responsibilities Apply theatrical, horror, character, and special effects makeup to haunted attraction performers. Use airbrush makeup techniques to create professional, long-lasting looks. Recreate established character designs consistently from night to night. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Assist with touch-ups and makeup adjustments as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary makeup area. Properly clean and maintain personal airbrush equipment and tools. Requirements Professional airbrush makeup training and hands-on experience is required. Previous theatrical, SFX, Halloween, haunted attraction, horror, or character makeup experience is strongly preferred. A portfolio of your makeup work is required for consideration. Please include examples of airbrush, SFX, horror, theatrical, or character makeup. Ability to complete applications efficiently while maintaining consistency and attention to detail. Comfortable working with a wide variety of performers and horror-themed designs. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Must be comfortable working in a high-energy, fast-paced haunted attraction environment. Must be available to commit to agreed-upon nights throughout the season. Schedule This is a seasonal, part-time event gig , with artists generally committing to approximately 2-4 nights per week . Haunt operating nights are primarily Thursday through Sunday , with makeup application hours generally from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM . Specific work nights will be coordinated in advance based on the Haunt's operating schedule and the artist's committed availability. What We Provide Haunted Field of Screams provides: Makeup and products needed to create our established character looks Character direction and designs Performers ready for application Artist provides: Professional airbrush machine and necessary personal equipment/tools Airbrush and makeup application services for assigned performers Compensation Compensation is paid at a flat rate per application night , based on experience, skill level, portfolio, and expected number of applications. Rates range from $75-$150 per committed application night. This is a 1099 independent contractor position . Contractors are responsible for submitting an invoice for nights worked. Payment will be processed at the conclusion of the event season, following receipt of the contractor's final invoice, on or around November 1, 2026.
