Overview 5 Points Haunted House is looking for a talented and reliable Airbrush Makeup Artist to join our team for the upcoming 2026 haunt season. We are looking for someone who enjoys creating dark, horror, distressed, bloody, monstrous, and character-driven makeup looks in a fast-paced theatrical environment. Our makeup artists play an important role in bringing our characters to life and helping create the immersive experience our guests expect when they walk through the haunt. This is a seasonal, paid position working primarily with our scare actors before opening each night. The ideal candidate is creative, efficient, dependable, comfortable working with airbrush equipment, and able to recreate established character looks consistently throughout the season. We mainly use airbrush! Responsibilities Apply airbrush and theatrical makeup to scare actors before opening each night Create a variety of haunted attraction looks including aged, sickly, dirty, bruised, bloody, decayed, creature, monster, and other horror-inspired effects Follow established character concepts, reference photos, and makeup designs Recreate makeup looks consistently from night to night Work efficiently to prepare multiple actors within a limited timeframe Make adjustments based on costumes, characters, lighting, and individual actors Help keep the makeup area organized throughout the evening Communicate with management, costume staff, zone leads, and actors to keep everyone ready for opening What We're Looking For Experience with airbrush makeup Experience with theatrical, haunted attraction, SFX, cosplay, film, or character makeup is a plus Understanding of color theory, shading, highlighting, contouring, and creating realistic texture Ability to work quickly without sacrificing the overall quality of the makeup Comfortable working on a wide variety of faces and skin tones Ability to take direction and recreate established character designs Dependable and able to arrive on time and ready to work Comfortable working in a busy, energetic haunted attraction environment Able to work well as part of a team Our goal is to make our actors look disturbing, creepy, dirty, injured, undead, possessed, monstrous, and believable.
