OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS
Cure Nailhouse invites visionary nail artists to submit for our artist residency, a first-of-its-kind residency redefining nail artistry as an ephemeral fine art practice. This residency provides a dedicated space for nail artists to experiment, refine their craft, and engage with a dynamic creative community at the intersection of fine art, beauty, and fashion. Selected artists will push the boundaries of nail technology and treat nails paintings and sculpture while engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue, storytelling, and exhibition opportunities. Our residency offers both artistic freedom and professional growth, with access to specialized equipment, a stipend, and strategic amplification opportunities.
ABOUT CURE NAILHOUSE
Cure Nailhouse is an experimental artist residency and studio that redefines nail technology as an artistic medium through education, craftsmanship, and an inclusive art, fashion, and beauty community. Nailhouse, our creative studio aims to celebrate and uplift our nail artists in residence by providing material resources for ephemeral sculptures, interdisciplinary dialogue, and a hybrid exhibition space to elevate their practice. Craft, our educational platform, unites established artists from diverse mediums with emerging nail artists in an interdisciplinary exchange. Through education, mentorship, licensing pathways, and masterclasses, participants refine their techniques and elevate their practice into a fine art form. MISSION Cure's mission is to subvert institutional norms and promote inclusivity by uplifting artists, makers, and appreciators at the intersection of fine art and beauty.

Compensation:
We offer a commission-based compensation structure with weekly payments, starting at 45%, based on experience.
WHO SHOULD SUBMIT?
We seek nail artists with a strong creative vision and a commitment to craftsmanship. Artists working in interdisciplinary practices, including 2D works, assemblage, and 3D sculptural works, are encouraged to submit. This residency is open to both emerging and established artists looking to develop their work in a highly curated, art-focused environment.
ELEGIBILITY
Must be 18+ years old Open to local and national artists Must have demonstrated experience as a nail artist A professional manicurist license administered by the State of Michigan is required
ARTIST EXPECTATIONS
Resident artists will engage in hands-on artistic production, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Artists are expected to partner with collectors to create ephemeral works on nail canvases, such as hand-painted artwork, 3D elements, and the application of embellishments, and treatments.
Key expectations include:
ART Create custom nail art designs, including hand-painted artwork, 3D elements, and the application of nail embellishments.
FOOT BATHS
Provide relaxing foot baths utilizing specialized techniques and products to create an elevated experience of adornment and embellishment.
NAIL EXTENSIONS
Apply, maintain, and remove nail extensions (acrylics, gels, and other types).
COLLABORATION
Collaborate with art collectors to understand their nail care needs and preferences, providing professional advice on nail health, art design and direction.
SANITATION
Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition according to health and safety regulations.
DEEP KNOWLEDGE
Stay informed about new nail products, techniques, and industry trends to provide the art collector with the best options.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Build and maintain strong relationships with collectors to cultivate a pipeline of supporters.
