Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a Seasonal SFX Makeup Artist for our haunted trail experience! In this fast-paced, creative role, you will work directly with our Lead SFX Artist (Joh) to bring our cast of haunt actors to life using speed-makeup techniques, airbrushing, blood/gore application, and prosthetics. After actors hit the trail, you will transition to assist in running the event (either on-trail acting, queue line entertainment, or operational staff support). This is a great seasonal role for theatrical makeup students, horror enthusiasts, airbrush artists, or freelance SFX talent looking for paid October/fall work. Key Responsibilities Apply rapid-fire special effects makeup, character designs, blood effects, scars, and prosthetics to trail actors during pre-show call times. Maintain a clean, sanitary work station and follow hygienic application standards for all products and tools. Work collaboratively with our Lead SFX Artist to follow established character style guides and ensure consistent, high-quality character looks. Assist with minor costume adjustments, mask fitting, and hair styling/distressing to complete actor transformations. Transition after makeup call into secondary event support duties (acting, queue management, or general staff support) for the duration of the operational night. Qualifications & Requirements SFX /
Makeup Skill:
Prior experience or strong foundational skill in special effects, theatrical makeup, airbrushing, liquid latex, or prosthetics (portfolio/photos of work preferred).
Speed & Focus:
Ability to execute clean, quick transformations during high-volume pre-show call times.
Team Player:
Willingness to jump into secondary staff or acting roles once makeup applications are completed for the night.
Reliability:
Reliable transportation to our location (544 Falcon Rd) and commitment to mandatory fall event dates. Must be 18+ and comfortable working in an outdoor, nighttime, horror-themed environment.
Pay:
$10.00 - $18.00 per hour
