Lead Nail Technician Job Description A Lead Nail Technician provides high-quality nail services while guiding and supporting the salon's nail team. This role combines technical expertise, excellent customer service, team leadership, and responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming salon environment. Key Responsibilities Perform manicures, pedicures, gel, Builder Gel, and Gel-X, nail-art, and enhancement services. Consult with clients and recommend services, colors, and aftercare. Train, mentor, and support nail technicians. Monitor service quality and ensure salon standards are consistently followed. Help coordinate appointments, workloads, and daily team activities. Maintain sanitation, sterilization, and workplace-safety procedures. Manage nail-product inventory and report low-stock items. Assist with resolving client concerns professionally. Encourage rebooking, client retention, and appropriate retail sales. Stay current with nail trends, techniques, products, and industry regulations. Support management with team performance and salon operations. Qualifications Current nail technician or cosmetology license, where required. Typically 2-3 years of professional nail-service experience. Strong skills in natural nails, enhancements, and nail art. Previous leadership, training, or mentoring experience preferred. Knowledge of sanitation and infection-control practices. Excellent communication, time-management, and customer-service skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
