This position is ideal for an experienced hard gel nail tech who is confident in their craft and excited about helping build a high-quality hard gel program within an established day and medical spa. In addition to providing services and building clientele, our Lead Hard Gel Nail Technician will work directly with ownership to help establish our service menu, protocols, product selection, quality standards and training as the department grows. Compensation & Schedule Starting at 35% commission on services $16/hour for designated Lead, training and administrative responsibilities Tips Retail commission opportunities Opportunity for commission and compensation growth based on performance and tenure Part-time to full-time opportunities Flexible scheduling Morning and evening shifts available Some Saturday availability preferred Employee position — not booth rental Hard Gel Skills Candidates should be experienced and confident in: Hard gel manicures Structured manicures Hard gel overlays Hard gel extensions Fills and rebalances Nail repairs Proper nail structure and apex placement Short and long nail enhancements Multiple nail shapes, including almond, square, coffin and stiletto French manicures and French designs Nail art and current nail trends Detailed nail and cuticle preparation Safe product removal Maintaining natural nail health and integrity Lead Responsibilities As our Lead Hard Gel Nail Technician, you will work directly with ownership to help: Develop and refine our hard gel service menu Establish service protocols and appropriate service timing Recommend professional hard gel systems and products Determine necessary tools, equipment and supplies Establish application, fill, rebalance, repair and removal protocols Develop consistent quality and service standards Establish client consultation and education standards Determine appropriate maintenance schedules and recommendations for clients Assist with hard gel inventory and product needs Stay current with new hard gel products, techniques and industry trends Help evaluate future hard gel nail technician applicants Assist with onboarding and training future hard gel technicians Mentor hard gel team members as the department grows Help maintain consistency and quality throughout the hard gel program Collaborate with ownership and the existing nail department Requirements Current Utah Nail Technician License in good standing Professional hard gel experience required Strong knowledge of hard gel systems, application and product control Strong understanding of proper structure and apex placement Excellent nail prep, cuticle work, shaping and finishing Experience with extensions, overlays, fills/rebalances and repairs Strong French manicure and nail art skills Knowledge of safe hard gel removal and natural nail preservation Strong sanitation, disinfection and infection-control practices Excellent attention to detail Strong client consultation and communication skills Ability to educate clients on maintenance schedules and home care Ability to recommend appropriate services based on the client's natural nails and goals Reliable, punctual and professional Strong organization and time-management skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with the spa team Ability to build and retain clientele Comfortable helping develop and grow a new hard gel program Ability to help train and mentor future hard gel technicians Leadership or training experience preferred, but not required Flexible availability, including some evenings and/or Saturdays Portfolio Required Applicants must provide a portfolio or professional social media page showing their own hard gel work .
