Job Description

Art Aide, Middle School The Harker School - 4.5 San Jose, CA Job Details Part-time $24 - $32 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Working with students Computer skills Full Job Description We are in search of a part-time Middle School Art Aide. The aide will work in the classroom Monday through Friday, 9:30am - 3:30pm (hours subject to change). This is a school year only position. The Middle School Art Aide supports the teacher and students in our dynamic middle school art program. Our art classes include, but are not limited to working with; clay, glazes, paints, stretching water-color papers. An interest in student learning, art, art mediums, and aesthetics as well as being self-motivated and hard working is necessary for this job. The Art Aide will be primarily responsible for maintenance of work areas, organizing materials, and cleaning.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing materials for student work in a wide variety of mediums Includes working with the following materials: clay, glazes, paints, stretching water-color papers, and cutting papers to size. Preparing art for presentation Mat and mount finished art with attention to detail for presentation (all mats are generally pre-cut). There are three to four major exhibits a year, which can require some extra hours. There are several changing bulletin boards on campus where work needs to be switched, and this is done as time allows. Install exhibits Involves sighting and leveling on wall for flat work, covering tables and laying out sculpture. Schedule and Hours:
Monday - Friday, near to 9:30am - 3:30pm. 27 hours per week, specific hours may be flexible. Adaptation to our rotating class schedule to be available for specific classes is helpful. Working Conditions The person may spend entire work shift sitting and using office equipment and computers. Lifting of supplies and materials will occur from time to time. May be subject to extended periods of standing or walking.

Compensation:
Pay for this position is determined according to The Harker School's established pay scale and is based on relevant education and experience, as evaluated by the Human Resources Department. The posted pay range reflects the full pay scale for this position. While the maximum rate is included for transparency, most new hires can expect to fall within the lower to middle portion of the pay scale based on their qualifications and experience.
