Job Story School of Art, Design and Creative Industries Indirect Teaching Assistantship (GTA-Indirect) Job Summary The primary function of a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) is to assist with instruction. GTAs have the latitude to make independent decisions, use judgment and exercise discretion when dealing with student matters. The main purpose and responsibility of GTAs is to impart knowledge or training to students at Wichita State University. Job Duties Duties vary per position to be defined by the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries per semester per engagement. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Additional Requirements To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances. Required Experience To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
