Moxie Salon & Beauty Bar is seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-driven Salon General Manager to lead our team, grow salon revenue, and deliver an exceptional experience for every client. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to motivate a beauty team, drive sales, build client loyalty, and maintain high operating standards. You will have meaningful responsibility and direct access to ownership, along with the opportunity to help shape the success of a growing salon. The ideal candidate is a licensed cosmetologist and confident leader who is equally comfortable coaching employees, reviewing performance metrics, resolving client concerns, building community relationships, and supporting clients behind the chair when needed.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Leadership and Team Development Lead, motivate, and hold the salon team accountable for performance, professionalism, reliability, teamwork, client service, and compliance with salon standards. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain talented stylists and support staff. Conduct regular team meetings, performance discussions, and individual coaching sessions. Build a positive, team-oriented culture where employees feel supported and expectations are clear. Create effective schedules that meet business needs while controlling labor costs. Address attendance, performance, and workplace concerns promptly and professionally. Sales and Business Growth Drive weekly service, retail product, membership, gift card, rebooking, and client-retention goals. Coach the team on consultations, service recommendations, upgrades, retail products, memberships, and rebooking. Set clear daily and weekly targets and create action plans to improve results. Monitor key performance indicators, including sales, average ticket, productivity, rebooking, retention, memberships, and retail performance. Prepare and communicate regular performance reports to ownership. Identify practical opportunities to increase traffic, conversion, repeat visits, and revenue. Client Experience Oversee the complete client journey—from the initial welcome and consultation through checkout and rebooking. Maintain a warm, polished, and professional salon environment. Resolve client concerns with empathy, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach. Coach team members on consultation quality, service delivery, hospitality, and client follow-up. Provide occasional hands-on styling support during peak periods, staffing gaps, or other business needs. Salon Operations Manage daily opening, closing, cash-handling, reconciliation, and POS procedures. Maintain salon cleanliness, organization, safety, and product presentation. Track inventory, conduct regular audits, and place orders within established budgets. Ensure client and employee records are accurate, secure, and current. Maintain compliance with salon policies, professional standards, and applicable licensing requirements. Communicate regularly with ownership and participate in scheduled management and corporate meetings. Marketing and Community Outreach Support local marketing, social media, promotions, and client events. Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners. Represent Moxie professionally at community and promotional events. Help generate reviews, referrals, social content, and repeat business. What We're Looking For Active cosmetology license required At least 3-4 years of salon or beauty-industry experience , with meaningful leadership or management responsibility Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable Strong sales orientation and confidence discussing goals, memberships, services, and retail products High-energy, outgoing, professional, and solutions-oriented leadership style Excellent communication, organization, time-management, and conflict-resolution skills Experience with scheduling, inventory, cash handling, retail merchandising, and labor management Comfort using POS systems, salon scheduling software, Google Workspace, and other digital tools Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain composed in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and a flexible schedule based on salon needs Ability to balance business leadership with occasional hands-on styling support Local marketing or community-outreach experience is a plus Compensation Base pay: $1,000-$1,100 per week Annualized base compensation: $52,000-$57,200 Additional performance-based bonus opportunities Employee service and product discounts Opportunities for professional growth and advancement as the business expands Why Join Moxie?
