FOH Shift Manager / Floor Manager La Palapa Grill & Cantina - Ellicott City, MD $20-$25 per hour, based on experience La Palapa Grill & Cantina is seeking an experienced FOH Shift Manager to lead our team and take ownership of the restaurant floor during busy shifts. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is confident running service, supporting employees, resolving guest concerns and maintaining high standards. This is not a desk-management role—you will be actively involved in the operation throughout the shift. What You'll Do Independently lead FOH shifts from opening through closing Direct and support servers, bartenders, hosts and support staff Maintain smooth service flow and strong floor coverage Monitor hospitality, cleanliness and service standards Handle guest concerns and oversee comps within company guidelines Communicate clearly with the kitchen and management team Assist wherever needed during high-volume periods Complete opening, closing, cash-handling and end-of-night procedures accurately Help hold the team accountable professionally and respectfully What We're Looking For Previous restaurant management or FOH leadership experience Full-service restaurant experience strongly preferred Strong floor awareness and sound decision-making A calm, confident and professional leadership style Excellent communication and guest-recovery skills Dependability, organization and attention to detail Willingness to be hands-on and lead by example Consistent availability for nights, weekends and holidays Compensation $20-$25 per hour , depending on experience Performance-based raise opportunity If you are an experienced restaurant professional who enjoys leading from the floor and knows how to keep a busy shift organized, we would like to hear from you.
