Our Assistant Manager helps set the tone for the salon. We're looking for someone who: ✂ Leads by example ✂ Communicates clearly and professionally ✂ Builds teamwork instead of participating in workplace gossip or negativity ✂ Is comfortable redirecting inappropriate conversations ✂ Doesn't take sides in personal disagreements ✂ Treats employees consistently and respectfully ✂ Addresses small issues before they become big ones ✂ Holds the team accountable to salon standards ✂ Knows when something needs to be escalated to ownership ✂ Keeps personal conflicts away from customers and the salon floor You don't have to solve everyone's problems. You DO need to be willing to step up and lead.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This is a working Assistant Manager position , so you'll spend most of your time doing what you love — cutting hair. You'll also help: Keep appointments and customer flow running smoothly Monitor wait times and make sure families are kept informed Support stylists and front-desk staff during busy periods Handle routine customer concerns and escalate larger concerns to ownership Reinforce salon policies and expectations Maintain a professional and respectful work environment Help make sure opening, closing and cleaning responsibilities are completed Oversee inventory and delegate inventory tasks when appropriate Communicate staffing issues and call-offs to management Assist newer team members with salon procedures and expectations Keep the salon organized, clean and ready for our families You will NOT be responsible for hiring, firing, payroll or formal employee discipline. Those responsibilities remain with General Manager/ownership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

✔ Active Michigan Cosmetology or Barber License ✔ Strong haircutting skills ✔ Leadership or supervisory experience preferred ✔ Dependable and responsible ✔ Confident communicator ✔ Comfortable addressing problems professionally ✔ Positive and team-oriented ✔ Able to stay calm in a busy environment ✔ Great with children and families ✔ Someone others can look to for direction
