Spa Manager SUMMARY The Spa Manager is responsible for management and day to day operations of the spa and for the department's development of long term directions, in support of the hotel's, Mission and Values; including profitable financial management, effective leadership, excellent customer service skills, and supervision of department requirements and standards. The Spa Manager must possess strong business and organizational skills as well as have creative energies and the ability to motivate and inspire a talented and diverse spa team. Must possess exceptional skills in running a spa operation in a city hotel environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to: Create a supportive and professional environment which consistently delivers a spa experience that exceeds guest and associate expectations. Assist with the screening and selection of all qualified spa candidates, communicating performance expectations, providing associates with on-going feedback, mentoring and conducting official performance reviews. Provide associates with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives to reach their fullest potential. Oversee operations in the spa department including: Massage, Skincare, Nails, Guest Reception, Locker Rooms, Spa Retail and the Fitness Center. Develop and monitor financial strategies to increase revenues while controlling operating expenses, monitoring annual budget and forecasts, reviewing monthly financial statements, utilizing yield management strategies, implementing inventory management and purchasing procedures, as well as monitoring and adjusting staffing levels, spa service appointments and operational expenses, to maximize spa profitability. Develop and enforce standard operating systems, to ensure the facility is maintained to luxury spa standards. Strategically and proactively develop programs, marketing initiatives and promotions to increase revenue generating opportunities, enhance the guest experience, and increase the repeat guest base. Create Wellness and Fitness experiences for the guests as appropriate. Support public relations requests for the spa and respond to all media leads. Establish beneficial partnerships with all product, equipment, and supply vendors that include competitive pricing, technical support, training programs and coop promotions. All positions may perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs that may be outside the scope of normal duties.
QUALIFICATIONS 4-6
years of spa experience; 3 of which were in a leadership role Bachelor's Degree Excellent organizational and time management skills Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur
PREFERRED
Master's Degree Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
