We're seeking a motivated Salon Assistant + Front Desk Support team member to join Dúo Hair Extension Studio. This role will begin as primarily front desk support and will grow to include supporting stylists. This is a hands-on role supporting both our stylists and the daily operations of the salon. Responsibilities include assisting with clients and salon services, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and helping manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling, client communication, and checkout. A valid New York State cosmetology license is required . Previous salon experience is strongly preferred. We're looking for someone who is professional, reliable, organized, proactive, and excited to grow within the beauty industry. ResponsibilitiesSalon & Stylist Support Greet and welcome clients upon arrival. Assist stylists and colorists throughout client appointments. Shampoo, condition, prep, and blow-dry clients as needed. Assist with basic salon services under the direction of our stylists. Prepare stations, tools, products, color supplies, and client areas. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the salon. Sanitize tools, stations, shampoo areas, and shared spaces. Help keep appointments running smoothly and on time. Support the team wherever needed during busy periods. Front Desk & Client Experience Answer incoming phone calls, texts, and client inquiries professionally and warmly. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments. Maintain accurate client information and appointment notes. Assist clients with check-in and checkout. Process payments and retail purchases. Communicate salon policies clearly and professionally. Help manage the daily appointment book and identify scheduling needs or conflicts. Communicate important client information to stylists. Assist with new client inquiries and consultation scheduling. Provide a high level of hospitality and customer service throughout the client experience. Retail & Salon Operations Learn Dúo's retail products and confidently make appropriate recommendations. Help maintain product displays and retail inventory. Restock salon supplies and alert management when products are running low. Take initiative during downtime by identifying what needs attention rather than waiting to be assigned every task. Qualifications & Skills Valid New York State cosmetology license. Previous salon experience preferred. Experience shampooing and blow-drying hair. Comfortable using blow dryers and heat-styling tools. Strong communication and customer service skills. Comfortable communicating with clients in person, by phone, and through text. Organized and able to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable learning salon scheduling and communication software. Professional, dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Able to take direction while also working independently. Team-oriented with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
