We are an independently owned and operated luxury day spa. Role OverviewAs the Assistant Spa Manager , retail sales and guest retention are central to your role. You will bridge front-of-house hospitality with revenue growth—leading by example on the sales floor, driving retail performance, and coaching the team on home-care recommendations and membership conversions. You will actively support the Spa Director/Owner in overall daily operations, sales goal execution, and team management.
Core Responsibilities Retail Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth Drive Sales Targets:
Take ownership of retail sales quotas, membership enrollments, and gift card promotions to exceed monthly revenue goals.
Consultative Selling:
Lead front-desk and specialist teams in educating guests on professional home-care products and treatment upgrades to enhance guest results.
Sales Coaching & Contests:
Conduct ongoing sales training, role-play guest interactions, design creative sales incentives/contests, and mentor staff on overcoming objections.
Merchandising & Display:
Maintain visually appealing, clean, and fully stocked retail shelves that align with Spavia visual merchandising standards to maximize impulse and targeted buys.
Operations, Team Leadership & Guest Service Guest Hospitality:
Deliver exceptional guest interactions at check-in/check-out, ensuring every guest receives 5-star service.
Inventory Control:
Lead monthly physical inventory counts, track product sell-through rates, manage shrinkage, and coordinate restock orders for retail products and back-bar supplies.
Staffing & Scheduling:
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding sales-focused talent. Manage staff schedules and request-off workflows to optimize front-desk coverage during peak sales hours.
Reporting:
Monitor daily and weekly retail revenue metrics, membership retention rates, and POS reporting to track progress against annual goals. Marketing & Community Engagement Partner in local business outreach, VIP events, product launch parties, and targeted promotional campaigns to generate new retail and service traffic.
Requirements & Qualifications Retail Sales Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of proven retail sales experience (beauty, luxury retail, or high-end retail sales required).
Industry Experience:
Prior experience in a spa, salon, or wellness setting is a major plus!
Track Record of Success:
Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding personal and store sales quotas in retail or membership-based models.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (degree or formal training in sales, business, or marketing is a plus).
Skills:
Strong consultative sales techniques, proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) software, inventory tracking, and excellent communication skills.
Attributes:
High energy, goal-driven, persuasive communicator, reliable, and professional under pressure.
Work Environment:
Drug/alcohol-free workplace; flexible schedule required (including evenings and weekends).
Pay & Benefits Base Hourly Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
